Repairing Concrete Driveways, Garage Slabs, & Floors

Choose SKV Construction for Concrete Driveway Repair

We have been repairing concrete cracks in concrete driveways, concrete garage floors, and concrete floors for years.  Don't take the DIY approach unless your extremely handy, or you know how to work with the great repair materials out there.  Choose SKV Construction.

Here is our process:
1. We clean the slab and fill deep holes and cracks; 2. When needed, we taper the crack area inwards; 3. We remove the loose stuff; 4. Using a high quality concrete floor Patch, we fill cracks, craters, divots and pits; 5. We create a dam; 6. We spread the crack repair material smooth, and then let it set.

The image below illustrates the process!

Repairing Badly Cracked Concrete Garage Slab with Hydrophobic Epoxy

The project below illustrates how concrete crack repair for a garage slab was accomplished.  As an alternative to repairing the crack, the client could have resurfaced the garage floor with interlocking tiles.  See the last project for interlocking tiles on this page.

Now the details of the crack repair on a garage slab.

My client asked "how come you have so many different materials?  I thought everyone used just plain old epoxy". I informed her that on her particular job, a hydrophobic material was needed .  She had a large crack that branched off in three different places.  The hydrophobic material was needed because it follows moisture more than traditional epoxies.

Then she asked why I was spraying water into the concrete crack?  I explained that the hydrophobic epoxy needed a road map to follow.  Water provides that roadmap.  She left to go upstairs.

When I was finished with the repair, she came down and inspected the work.  She couldn't believe that the branched off cracks had extended two feet from the crack she originally wanted fixed.

She asked if there was an additional charge for the extra work, and I said "No." She was very satisfied!

Interlocking Tiles Resurface Garage Slab

In the below project, the homeowner's garage slab was stained and beginning to break up. The slab could have been cleaned and sealed, but all imperfections on the slab would have been enhanced by the sealer.

As an alternative, a beautiful and durable self-locking tile was installed over the complete slab.

The tiles are made of recycled rubber and interlock with each other to provide solid, secure surface. View 1 below shows the concrete garage floor before restoration. Views 2 and 3 show the garage floor with the tiles installed over the original floor.
