Concrete Steps & Staircase Projects

Here are some of the concrete steps repair projects successfully completed by SKV Construction.  The proper repair of your concrete steps, and porch landings to your home is one of the best ways to enhance the image of your home.

Over time, erosion due to weather, settling of your house, and rodent damage will take their toll on the concrete.  If a detailed analysis on the causes of concrete failure is of interest, here is link to a free whitepaper.

Concrete Steps Repaired With New Footings & Black Railing Added

In this project, SKV Construction removed the old steps.  Concrete footings were poured for the new concrete steps, forms were built and 6 new concrete risers were poured.  The new concrete steps provide a nice transition from the existing sidewalk to the top of the porch landing area. Ornamental black metal railings were secured to the the new steps and the porch landing.

The concrete steps provide a clean, inviting look to the front of the house.  The steps blend in nicely with the brick exterior.

This project in concrete steps repair is typical of many that SKV Construction has done for residences and commercial buildings.  If you have a concrete area that is in much needed repair, Contact Us today for a no obligation proposal.

Broken Concrete Steps Repaired & Edges Fixed

In this project, a 2 step set of concrete stairs to a home was in need of repair to prevent a trip hazard.

The first image below shows the stairs before restoration with a the damaged areas exposed.  Note the loose concrete debris on the steps and sidewalk.

It was necessary to vacuum up all the debris. Broken corners are sometimes difficult to reinforce. In this case, tap-cons were inserted into the base stairs and a special bonding material was used to make the new patch adhere to the old concrete.

The second image illustrates the concrete steps repair after refinishing.  Note the clean, square edges around the railings and the removal of the potential trip hazard.
